The very demographics that anchored his landslide victory in the 2026 general election-primarily Generation Z and first-time voters-are now leading widespread protests demanding a formal apology and the immediate resignation of Balendra Shah.

The sudden shift in public sentiment follows a controversial address by Prime Minister Balendra Shah in Parliament regarding the long-standing border dispute between Nepal and India over the Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura territories.
