Taking note of the reports, Left MLA Shailendra Nath visited Raichandrapara to assess the situation on the ground. After meeting the family and examining their living conditions, the MLA criticised the ruling establishment and questioned the delivery of government welfare services in the area.
Tribal Family Faces Lack of Basic Facilities
According to Shailendra Nath, the tribal family does not have a proper permanent house, safe drinking water, adequate educational facilities or proper access to healthcare.
The MLA also alleged that the children are struggling to continue their education and that the family has no stable source of income to meet its everyday needs.
He questioned how such a situation could continue despite repeated claims of development and welfare initiatives by governments and elected representatives.

MLA Targets ‘Triple-Engine’ Government
Shailendra Nath strongly criticised what he described as the “triple-engine” government, pointing out that the BJP is in power at the Centre and in Tripura, while its allied forces are in power in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council.
Despite this political arrangement, he alleged that essential government services have failed to reach the tribal family in Raichandrapara.
The MLA further alleged that local authorities and ruling party leaders have been avoiding responsibility by referring to the Left’s absence from power for nearly 25 years. He argued that such political explanations cannot justify the continued deprivation of basic services.
Allegations Over Development Benefits
The Left MLA also alleged that development benefits are being concentrated among affluent sections of society and people close to those in power, while economically vulnerable families remain neglected.
He said that genuine development should reach families living in remote and disadvantaged areas rather than remain limited to politically influential sections.
The allegations have added to the political debate over the implementation of welfare schemes and the delivery of essential services in remote tribal areas of Tripura.

MLA Seeks Immediate Government Intervention
Shailendra Nath has demanded immediate government assistance for the tribal family, including proper housing, safe drinking water, education, healthcare and livelihood support.
The MLA also confirmed that he has personally discussed the family’s situation with the District Magistrate and urged the administration to take necessary steps.

The case has once again highlighted concerns over the reach of welfare and development programmes among vulnerable tribal households in remote parts of Tripura.
